Cardiac Care

The HCA Central and West Florida Network includes 15 hospitals, with eight facilities offering comprehensive heart & vascular institutes and all 14 hospitals earning Accredited Chest Pain Center designation. Together, they provide comprehensive, advanced diagnostic and treatment options for cardiovascular disease.

Their medical teams include Central and West Florida's most respected cardiologists, cardiovascular/thoracic surgeons, vascular surgeons, electrophysiologists and other specialists who are experts in their disciplines.

Chest Pain Center Accreditation

All fourteen HCA West Florida Division hospitals have earned Accreditation by the Society of Chest Pain Centers and nine of these facilities have earned Chest Pain Accreditation with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI).

Integrates Hospital ERs with EMS

This protocol driven and systematic approach improves quality of care by allowing physicians to reduce time to treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack, when treatments are most effective, and to better monitor patients when it is not clear whether they are having a coronary event.

Heart Attacks Remain Leading Cause of Death

More than 5 million Americans visit hospitals each year with chest pain. The goal of Chest Pain Accreditation is to significantly reduce mortality rates through a three-prong approach: educating the public on cardiac symptoms, reducing the time it takes to receive treatment and increasing accuracy and effectiveness of treatment.
